Family Chiropractic Wellness Center in Santa Rosa – Balancing Wellness with Corrective Care

We’re seeing more and more newcomers to our family chiropractic wellness center in Santa Rosa, and it’s awesome! It’s little wonder that people are looking into chiropractic care, with “traditional” healthcare costs spiraling while failing to offer more assurances of proper treatment.

Also, there is a big difference between chiropractic and other forms of medical service:  chiropractic goes beyond alleviating your physical problems.  In fact, that’s only the first step.  Chiropractic care is holistic in nature, not just curing immediate problems, but helping each patient find a better balance in their life which will promote improved health for years to come.

If you’re thinking about visiting a family chiropractic wellness center in Santa Rosa, here’s a quick glimpse at how the chiropractic care process works.

Everything in Balance: The Three Phases of Chiropractic Care

1 – Phase One: Relief from Symptoms

People rarely come to a chiropractor when they aren’t already in pain and discomfort. (Although perhaps they should.)  So, the first step in most chiropractic care is to focus on the immediate problem at hand.  The chiropractor talks to the patient and finds out what they’re suffering from, and utilizes common chiropractic adjustment to reduce their immediate pain.

Even if there are deeper issues, it’s much easier to dig into them once the symptoms are alleviated.  Once that happens, we can move onto…

2 – Phase Two: Correcting Larger Issues

Physical ailments rarely happen “in a vacuum,” as they say.  Once the immediate pain is alleviated, the chiropractor can start looking deeper over the course of subsequent sessions.  They’ll learn more about the patient’s lifestyle, and do a more hands-on exploration of the patient’s body to find other areas which are out of alignment and in need of adjustment.

Chiropractic care means whole-body health.  We don’t assume, for example, that back pain is solely there.  Back problems can also be influenced by the legs, neck, and head.

3 – Phase Three: Long-Term Wellness

Once the chiropractor feels they have a good handle on the patient’s bodily situation, their role shifts to being more advisory.  Matters such as diet and posture and exercise are discussed.  The chiropractor helps the patient understand how their own activities influence their body’s condition, encouraging them to find the balance between lifestyle and overall health.
