HOLISTIC, PATIENT-FOCUSED TREATMENT
The total, full-body wellness of each patient is always our guiding principle as we determine a treatment plan. Though the vast majority of our patients arrive with a specific issue they’d like to treat – for example, chronic neck pain and headaches – we always take the time to do a thorough examination of the body as a whole. Individual problems do not exist in a vacuum, nor do the solutions.
Our bodies are delicately balanced mechanisms, and so thoroughly interconnected that the root cause of any problem may be quite far removed from where the pain is expressed. In the case of the chronic neck pain sufferer, it could be that a slight difference in hip mobility caused an imbalanced gait, which resulted in an imbalance of muscle tone, which caused the body to sit and stand with irregular posture, which causes the discomfort. Or, the cause could be even simpler and more insidious than that: day-to-day modern life is packed with activities that our bodies are not designed for. Hunching over phones, sitting at desks or in cars for hours a day, or even just wearing the wrong shoes can result in lasting pain if not corrected. Of course, if the problem is posture, or footwear, or hip mobility, then an effective treatment will never be found by someone only looking at the neck.
This is the ethos that we bring to every treatment we carry out. Our goal is to identify the source of the problem, wherever it may be, and correct it at the foundation.
COMBINING CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT & THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
When it comes to correcting biomechanics, being able to approach the issue from two different directions is an extremely powerful tool. Therapeutic massage can help release muscle tension that is holding parts of the skeletal structure in the wrong position, and chiropractic treatment can address structural imbalances that cause unnecessary muscle tension and strain. With nearly 20 years of experience helping patients improve their overall wellness, we know that these two approaches are greater than the sum of their parts – and we have the skill necessary to utilize them to their greatest potential.
